The Australian Tennis Seniors Championships is held over 2 weeks, every year, and is hosted by the each on a rotational basis. In January 2010, the event is going to be hosted on the Gold Coast by Tennis Seniors Queensland.
The Seniors Championships are open to tennis players 35 years and older. The first week of the Championships is a team’s competition between the States, while the second week is devoted to individual championships (singles, doubles and mixed doubles).
Australia Seniors tennis is booming. Seniors tennis competitions are played all over Australia and up to 1000 tennis players contend each year for the Teams Trophy at the Australian Tennis Seniors Championships. In the individual Championships, players fight for the honour to represent Australia at the 16-team ITF Cup World Championships.
